REHABILITASI EKOSISTEM LAUT
Synopsis
Ekosistem laut merupakan bagian penting dari sistem kehidupan yang memiliki fungsi ekologis, sosial, ekonomi, dan lingkungan yang sangat besar. Terumbu karang, mangrove, lamun, serta ekosistem pesisir lainnya berperan sebagai habitat biota laut, pelindung wilayah pesisir, penyedia sumber daya perikanan, penyimpan karbon, sekaligus penopang kehidupan masyarakat pesisir. Namun, tekanan akibat aktivitas manusia, perubahan tata guna lahan, pencemaran, eksploitasi sumber daya, serta perubahan iklim telah menyebabkan berbagai bentuk degradasi ekosistem laut. Kondisi tersebut menuntut adanya pemahaman yang kuat mengenai rehabilitasi, restorasi, dan pengelolaan ekosistem laut secara berkelanjutan.
Buku ini disusun untuk memberikan pemahaman dasar hingga teknis mengenai rehabilitasi ekosistem laut. Pembahasan dimulai dari pengertian rehabilitasi, restorasi, dan reklamasi; faktor-faktor penyebab kerusakan ekosistem laut; hingga teknik rehabilitasi pada ekosistem utama, yaitu terumbu karang, terumbu karang buatan, mangrove, dan lamun. Dengan susunan tersebut, buku ini diharapkan dapat membantu mahasiswa, dosen, peneliti, praktisi, pengelola kawasan pesisir, serta pihak-pihak yang memiliki perhatian terhadap konservasi dan pemulihan ekosistem laut.
